Snowman

“Forecast of Joy”
This sculpture is more than whimsy—it’s a promise kept in stone. Crafted from smooth, stacked rocks, this snowman was born not of snowfall, but of disappointment turned delight. When a Dallas weatherman predicted snow that never came, leaving children crestfallen and skies stubbornly clear, Rick stepped in—not with complaint, but with creation.

Adorned with a red scarf, black top hat, and stick arms (one proudly holding a symbolic snowball), this figure became a stand-in for winter’s absence. A gesture of playful defiance. A gift of imagination. Behind it, the blue backdrop and twig silhouettes evoke the chill that never arrived, while the warm wooden wall reminds us of the human warmth that did.

Eventually, this snowman was gifted to the very weatherman who made the forecast—a sculpted wink, a tactile thank-you, and a reminder that art can redeem even the weather.
